We currently have two dapple girls and three black and tan girls living with us. We also have a couple of girls living with friends. All are part of the MandalaDax pack.
Our Yestie and Peony are semi-retired. Yestie went to shows during November 2021 – December 2022 as Veteran, and won quite a few times – and had a number of podium finishes in Best Veteran in Show. I was super happy to be back in the ring with her, and she loved it as well!! She managed to close Veteran titles in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Belgium, Netherlands and Montenegro, as well as the new FCI International Veteran Champion title.
MandalaDax Antique Peony, KS, Black and Tan – she finally finished her Belgian Championship in May 2022 at the very same show where she won her first CACIB 5 years earlier (the photo below); she is Champion Croatia, Luxembourg, and now Belgium — along with Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republike Srpska and Federation Bosnia and Herzegovina, all of those closed in 2019-2022; she has Junior Championships from Belgium and Croatia and WUT; multiple Winner titles; qualified for Crufts in 2017 and 2018.
Reine Belle iz Mishkinogo Doma in her showing career closed Luxembourg Junior Champion along with Belgium and Croatian junior championships – and as an Adult closed Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Belgium. Her best podium finish was Best in Group 2 at the Zagreb Specialty Show for Hunting Breeds in November 2018. She had her litter in December 2021, she is now retired from showing and lives as an “only dog” with friends, and adores all the attention.
Sadly during from August 2021 to July 2022, we lost Willow, Kina, Tolka and Vicky and my very first dachshund, Berlina who was living with my niece and her husband. It was a lot of dear companions to go over the Rainbow Bridge in such a short time.
In a moment of madness, I decided to replace Kina, Tolka and Vicky in our pack, and we brought back dogs with relationships to my other dogs — Piri, (GinTonic of Man’s Best Friend) who is a daughter of Makar and my friend Ildiko’s lovely Pepper, Piri is Black and Tan, and very small – a true kaninchen despite being born with a miniature pedigree, she takes after her dad, who is kaninchen and her mom is a very small miniature; Tinie (Dramatic Martini Uut de Slikhoek) who is a granddaughter of Yestie and Makar and a kaninchen Black and Tan dapple like Yestie; and Lilu (Good Point Legenda) who is related to Yestie and Makar and Peony, and is a Black and Tan miniature.
