Vix or Vicky Doodles is the girl that I looked for long and hard to replace Berlina in my heart. She was born in July 2012 in Cardiff, Wales – her breeder, Karen Rees, is well known for her quality champion whippets, but she also has some very lovely miniature smooth dachshunds. Vicky’s mum is Izimus Coconut Ice at Kierpark (Monica) and her dad is Stargang What’s Up Doc (Bugs). I picked her out at two days old and fell in love then, and she has been such a wonderful companion. But she is not just that, she is also the mum of my very first litter. Like Tolka, she is a hunter and I don’t have enough fingers and toes to list all of her “successes” – she is a true working dachshund, she was only four months old when she got her first rat in Battersea Park. We lived initially in London and then in Leiden and eventually in Czechia, where she enjoys roaming the fields. Vicky isn’t shown often but she has a number of CACs and Reserve CACs to her name. She was so happy to be a mum and she still loves playing with the “puppies” who are now grown up.
